Jonathan D'Silva is a registered patent attorney. From prosecuting patents to enforcing intellectual property rights, Jonathan has the knowledge and experience to handle virtually every aspect of intellectual property law. As a seasoned IP attorney, Jonathan delves into the science, engineering, and technological aspects of intellectual property while also delivering discerning business counsel.
He works closely with CEOs, R&D engineers, small-business owners, inventors, and creatives to ensure that they understand the options available to them and how best to protect their intellectual property assets. Jonathan not only works to protect his clients' intellectual property, but he’s also a community advocate and philanthropist.
When he’s not practicing law, he’s giving presentations and lectures on intellectual property to students at various regional colleges, universities, and economic development organizations. Jonathan is the Lead Curator of the volunteer group TEDxErie, an independently organized TED event, and the CEO and co-founder of The Urban Oasis Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings fresh, regionally sourced foods to downtown Erie, solving the area’s deficit of affordable, healthy food options.
Our patent paralegal, Sunni Reitmyer, has been with the MMI Intellectual Property team since its inception in 2016. She provides support throughout the patent application process, including conducting legal research, filing utility and design patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), docketing patent application prosecution deadlines, and by assisting in maintaining granted patents. She is our in-house patent searcher, having completed the patent search training course presented by Patent Resources Group (PRG) in 2018. At heart, she is a hermit who loves to explore in the solitude of nature, and just wants to spend time with her critters. She also practices endurance running and yoga.
Leif Uhlman is our in-house Patent Engineer and Illustrator. Leif has a passion for design and an intimate knowledge of Patent Law. With a background in Physics and Mechanical Engineering , Leif utilizes his experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing, and system design to deliver the protection that your intellectual property deserves. Outside of the office, Leif is a skilled woodworker, furniture designer, and CNC hobbyist.
